THE MUN LEGACY

DAV School’s Model United Nations has built a remarkable legacy through its editions—MUN 1.0 to 5.0—each raising the bar in diplomacy, debate, and leadership. Starting as a small academic exercise, it has evolved into a premier conference, attracting passionate delegates.

LEGACY IGNITE

NIKITA LALCHANDANI

Back in 2020, when I first stepped into DAV Model School, Durgapur, Model United Nations was an unfamiliar concept. It all began with a daring idea and a vision to introduce MUNs to our school. We wanted to create a space where students could think, speak, and lead beyond the classroom. At first, there were rejections, second thoughts, and more than a few sleepless nights. But alongside a team that believed in this dream as much as I did, we chose not to back down. We kept showing up, kept planning and eventually, DAVMUN was born.
From two virtual editions hosting over 200 delegates to now celebrating five successful chapters, DAVMUN has come a long way. This website is more than just a digital space, it is a symbol of how far we’ve come, and a reminder of how much further we can go.
DAVMUN was never just about debates or drafting resolutions. At its heart, it was always about confidence, about encouraging students to question, gain confidence, articulate their opinions and learn about diplomacy.
As this conference continues to grow, my vision is for DAVMUN to reach across Durgapur and beyond bringing students from different schools, and becoming an open platform for the students.
To every delegate who stepped into a committee room with nervous excitement, and to every secretariat member who worked tirelessly behind the scenes- THANK YOU. You are the reason this legacy continues.
Here’s to many more editions
This is just the beginning!
With all my heart,
Founder, DAVMUN
